Lone Star ISDS Case: Korea Achieves Complete Victory in Annulment Proceedings

At approximately 15:22 on November 18 (Korea Standard Time), the Government of the Republic of Korea achieved a full victory in the annulment proceedings concerning the investor–state dispute settlement (ISDS) case filed by U.S. private equity fund Lone Star. Lone Star initiated the case in 2012 before the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), seeking approximately USD 4.68 billion (KRW 6.9 trillion) in damages.
