Benefits of Probation
Humane criminal policies
- Probation prevents disconnection of offenders from their homes, workplaces, and society, which is caused by detaining them in prisons and juvenile detention centers, in order to help them maintain their relationships with their families, so as to reduce financial and psychological difficulties experienced by the offenders and their family members.
- This system prevents offenders from learning crime, which is caused by accommodation of offenders in a prison, and helps offenders swiftly and stably reenter into society, thus effectively fulfilling the goal to reduce recidivism.
Opened for people to participate in offender rehabilitation programs
- Probation is implemented based on the local community. Therefore, volunteers and the general public can take part in guiding offenders.
